Abortion[?]What is your stand on abortion?
Abortion is a states' rights issues as defined by the 10th Amendment.  That being said, I would remove all federal legislation on the issue.  I would have no litmus test for supreme court nominees vis-a-vis their view on abortion.
On a more personal note, as a man I am not qualified to truly empathize with women and the decisions that must be made.  As a father, I think children are little miracles.  I would urge the United States needs a new system of adoption that promotes getting children currently in the orphanage system into loving homes.  As a carry through, perhaps more pregnancies would be carried to term if the orphanage and adoption processes were not nightmarish.

Regardless if you think the United States should have led an invasion of Iraq, the fact of the matter is we did.  There is no going back to change this fact.  The U.S. military executed their orders; dismantling the Iraqi military and toppling the Hussein government.  In addition to this, the Iraqi infrastructure was widely damaged.  Because of this, the United States has a de facto commitment to ensure stability is returned to Iraq.  Stability in government and its administrative tasks, stability of a police force, stability of an economy, stability of day to day life.  While we all want our troops to come home, it is absolutely imperative that the United States military and government not abandon our commitment.  The United States must stay engaged in Iraq, much as we did with the Axis powers following World War Two, to return Iraq to a stable nation and a productive member of the global community.  To leave early will only guarantee that chaos will reign and we will once again need to send our fighting forces into the breach.  The United States must remain committed to this obligation to Iraq.

Tax Policy[?]What are your views on taxation?
In general I am for a limited government which should translate into a limited need for taxation.  In general, I believe it is time the government make do with less rather than individuals.
The first item on my tax policy would be to abolish income taxes on retirees over 65 years old.  This would include income from pensions, social security, 401(k), and IRAs.  Some will argue that a large part of our national debt was created by the people who are now retired and they should pay part of the tab.  However, I think it is in the interest of the greater good that senior citizens on fixed incomes be allowed to live out their golden years with some comfort and without making decisions between buying food or buying prescriptions.
