Issues
Introduction[?]Introduce yourself to the voters. Give an overview of your philosophy.
i don't want to be president.

furthermore, i don't qualify to become such given the current laws, simply because i was not born on u.s.a. soil, even though i am, nonethless a citizen.

why can't we live such that the presidency becomes unnecessary?

still, i have ideas about bettering ourselves as a people/country.  some might say they're pie in the sky.  well, wouldn't sky-pie be a tasty delight?
Abortion[?]What is your stand on abortion?
the ideal:
folks would be educated enough about reproduction to make in formed choices to prevent an unintended pregnancy.  even in a close-to-ideal situation, this wouldn't always happen.  thus, i feel that a woman, since her body is primarily responsible for the pregnancy, should be able to have an abortion if she so desires.  certainly, there should be some amount of screening to ensure that a woman is aware of all the affects of her decision.

every day, we make life and death decision for many species, and we should be able to practice the same for ourselves.

how to get there:
increase reproductive education.  no child should get to puberty without being given all such knowledge.  as a culture, we should openly discuss sexuality and its affects on our health.
Economy[?]How would you address current and future economic issues?
I have not decided my position on this issue.
Education[?]What are your views on the Education system?
the ideal:
is anything more important?  yes, shelter and water/food.  but then again, to know that is an education.  so, it's right up there on the priority list for survival.

education about more than bodily survival encompasses a vast body of knowledge.  we specialize in interesting ourselves in the world, and i can think of no better effort, beyond sustaining our bodies, than the nurturing of our minds.

how to get there:
educational institutions should all be free to those who desire them.  our human minds are capable of amazing insight and we should feed them to their fill.  teachers should be compensated for their skills at the highest level.  their talents and propensity toward educating should be exalted.  training for teachers should be rigorous and long in order to ensure that only the best educators be allowed to teach after demonstrating their capabilities.

Energy Policy[?]How would you address the energy needs of the country?
the ideal:
long-term, sustainable energy sources and energy uses.

how to get there:
sun & gravity.  these forces are immense and readily available in abundance.  we are capable of harnessing a fraction of those forces for our use, leaving us to contemplate better ideas than how to gouge money out of eachother by claiming ownership of more finite energy-providing resources.

as important as our energy sources are our energy uses.  we should develop ways to minimize our uses and be more effiecient about them.  everything from transportaition to home toilets should undergo a massive re-thininking placing efficiency above convenience, and health, for the planet and us, above any perceived ease.
Environment[?]How would you balance the needs of the environment with the needs of the economy?
the ideal:
this planet is our home.  there's no reason we cannot take good care of it, and thus ourselves.  we should devote ourselves to ensuring that our choices in living minimize the negative impacts upon other creatures and materials, ensuring that the balance is such that we may continue living in such way that we all may continue living.

how to get there:
the existing dammage/imbalance we have caused should be accessed and plans should be made to correct such dammage to the extent possible with those who are responsible for such contributing to the degree of their responsibility.  our ways of living should always take into consideration how they will affect our planet in order to ensure minimal dammage.
Foreign Policy[?]What should the United States' role be in the global community?
the ideal:
others have different ways of living.  we should respect their choices while demonstrating ours.  the best ways will win out.  we should be generous to others while clearly defining what behaviour we will condone from others.

how to get there:
first, we should give our best effort to understand others through our education. then, we should lead by example.  get things right, or as close to right as we can, at home, and let others choose to follow or not.  of course, we should speak our minds and act according to our beliefs in response to the actions of others, but forcing our ways upon others will not work.  we should be generous with others, offering as much as we can give without straining ourselves beyond capacity.
Gay Marriage[?]What are your views on the rights of committed gay couples?
the ideal:
marriage should not be a governed institution and should have no legal status. it should be a social practise supported by the community it arises in.

how to get there:
proper education should suffice for people to understand that love takes many forms, and thus, for people to accept forms different than their own.
Health Care[?]How would you address the current health care situation?
the ideal:
people should live in healthy ways, thus reducing the need for medical help.

how to get there:
proper education should inform the populace of healthy living choices, thus reducing the need for treatment.  as people require treatment, it should come from humane, respectful institutions focused on healing not just a particular ailment, but rather the person's entire attitude toward personal health.  also, such institutions should provide a wide palette of healing, with the current western medical model completely revisioned.  all such treatment should be provided from a public fund, thus providing incentive to live healthily.

Immigration[?]How would you balance immigration and the needs of the workforce?
the ideal:
no countries.  we all share the same planet, so we should be able to live in different regions as we choose.  our homes should be welcome to those in need who respect not only other humans, but the land upon which they live.

how to get there:
education.  a proper understanding of different cultures and practices would lead to respect.  confilcts about who has the right to live in a particular area, under what rules, should be arbitrated by an elected body.
Iraq[?]What is your policy regarding the current War in Iraq?
the ideal:
the iraqi people rule themselves according to their will.

how to get there:
it's a big mess.  a big knot.  there's a story about undoing an impossible knot by cutting through it.  one such slice would be to withdraw the u.s.a. presence.  perhaps other nations could intervene in the transition to whatever's next, because the u.s.a.'s involvment is too problematic.
National Security[?]How would you protect the country?
the ideal:
people feeling mostly secure.

how to get there:
openness.  if we set the example of disarming, radical as it might seem, it would be an incredible gesture of change to the rest of the world, showing humility and responsibility for the u.s.a.'s previous mistakes of war-making.  a good defense is not a strong offense, but rather not having to defend at all.  this can be accomplished by disarming and using our energy to build understandings rather than create threats.
Tax Policy[?]What are your views on taxation?
the ideal:
no taxes.  why should humans pay to live on the planet?

how to get there:
end taxation.  we can still represent ourselves, and better, without paying to be citizens of an un-sustainable country.  taxes pay for governments to function.  cut out taxes and any government would have to earn its keep.  government members would either govern as a secondary job, or create a way to fund themselves by performing well.
Social Security[?]How should Social Security operate in the future?
the ideal:
folks would be able to retire with, minimally, a reasonable amount of their needs met.

how to get there:
change our paradigm about many things.  about careers, about the role of the elders in our society.  my understanding of the current social security system is limitied, but my sense is that it's a racket for the government and is an economic blunder.  rather than the government trying to manage peoples economics, it should be supporting the people to manage their own economics, once again, by providing a proper education.
